Unparalleled Data Processing Using High Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) Showcased at Embedded World

Multiple demos from Aitech will highlight powerful processing platforms in rugged, SFF systems

Key Highlights:

  • Three working demos of rugged HPEC systems (Hall 4/4-264)
  • Recent integration enhancements to GPGPU-based products on display
  • Multiple systems represented through partners throughout Embedded World

Chatsworth, Calif. March 2017 – As the need for complex data processing keeps growing in High Performance Embedded Computers (HPEC) and Small Form Factors (SFF), Aitech Defense Systems Inc. continues to build out its powerful NVIDIA-based GPGPU COTS product family, with the newest enhancements showcased at Embedded World this month.

At Aitech’s stand 4-264 (Hall 4) there will be a working demo of the A191 subsystem, the flagship rugged GPGPU supercomputer in an expansive line of true rugged, COTS HPEC subsystems. This product family is assembled, tested and qualified to provide an out-of-the-box functionality — with no NRE — that meets many of today’s military and airborne computing requirements.

Better software integration
Also on hand will be the compact A176 Cyclone, a fanless, conduction-cooled, rugged GPGPU SFF supercomputer that measures only 20 cubic inches, while providing 1 TFLOP of parallel processing.  The unit now supports more hardware I/O and software options (1553, ARINC 429, Camera Link Frame Grabber) allowing even faster integration to save development time and money.

The new A176 Cyclone also features internal microSD storage, increasing designers’ flexibility to scale the supercomputer to more complex compute intensive applications.  These include data convolutions and transpositions, image and data manipulation, application of digital filters, image and frame object edge detection, image recognition and data analysis.

Storing more data locally in non-volatile mass storage eliminates the cumbersome and risky process of pumping sensitive data off to a remote data server.  And to counter localized threats, mass storage offers options for fast and secure erase.

A third working demo at Aitech’s stand will be the A172, a low profile rugged compact PC (RCP) that provides exceptional design flexibility in a low power, high performance computing system.

Partnerships build the ecosystem
Multiple industry partners will also be presenting Aitech’s powerful embedded computers, such as NVIDIA in Hall 4A (4A-518) with the A176 Cyclone.

In Hall 1, AVD (1-360) will showcase more of Aitech’s graphics display capabilities with the M596 Radeon E8860 (Adelaar)-based XMC and EMCOMO Solutions, also in Hall 4 (4-478) will feature the A176 and A195 HPEC units.
