Cost Analyst
About The Position
In this role, you will be responsible for tracking and analyzing the performance of short and long-term projects. You will be working closely with program managers and other internal/external stakeholders to optimize program budgeting and identify potential risks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Budgeting, tracking, and forecasting of short and long term projects
- Project costing and pricing support for new business
- Customer and IRAD projects financial progress reporting
- Bookings, billings and revenue forecasting
- Gross margin reports and analysis on projects
- Identify and assess project financial risks
- Budget variance analysis and corrective recommendations
- Project cash flow projections
- Inventory tracking on projects
- Develop and implement financial models, project cost controls, and ROI analysis
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support
- Any other job-related issues as required by the business and management
- Monitor industry trends and economic factors to determine potential impacts on project costs
Requirements
Recommended Experience/Education:
- Min 2+ years of FP&A/programs experience
- BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative majors
- Experience in costing NRE in the Military and/or Space industry
- Manufacturing and BOM Costing experience
Recommended Skills/Requirements:
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to create complex financial models and reports
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to effectively interact at all levels within the organization and with external customers.
- Must have advanced proficiency with MS Excel and Midsize ERP Systems
- Must have advanced knowledge of dynamic array formulas in MS Excel
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
- Detail-Oriented skills
- Can display a positive attitude in discussion, including if there are conflicts
