Cost Analyst

About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for tracking and analyzing the performance of short and long-term projects. You will be working closely with program managers and other internal/external stakeholders to optimize program budgeting and identify potential risks.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting, tracking, and forecasting of short and long term projects 
  • Project costing and pricing support for new business
  • Customer and IRAD projects financial progress reporting 
  • Bookings, billings and revenue forecasting
  • Gross margin reports and analysis on projects
  • Identify and assess project financial risks
  • Budget variance analysis and corrective recommendations
  • Project cash flow projections
  • Inventory tracking on projects
  • Develop and implement financial models, project cost controls, and ROI analysis
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support
  • Any other job-related issues as required by the business and management
  • Monitor industry trends and economic factors to determine potential impacts on project costs

 

Requirements

Recommended Experience/Education:

  • Min 2+ years of FP&A/programs experience
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative majors
  • Experience in costing NRE in the Military and/or Space industry
  • Manufacturing and BOM Costing experience

Recommended Skills/Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to create complex financial models and reports
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and the ability to effectively interact at all levels within the organization and with external customers.
  • Must have advanced proficiency with MS Excel and Midsize ERP Systems
  • Must have advanced knowledge of dynamic array formulas in MS Excel
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Detail-Oriented skills
  • Can display a positive attitude in discussion, including if there are conflicts
